The Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue is a joint initiative of
Applicable between the event organizer Bundesverband Erneuerbare Energien (´BEE´) and end users/event attendants of Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (´You´)
1. Introduction and scope of application
When you register for the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue via this website you agree to the terms and conditions set out below. If you do not agree to the Terms and Conditions, you may not register for the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue via this website.
This website offers online services with interactive features for which you will have to create a profile. The interactive features allow you to sign-up for event related sessions, search for other participant profiles, request bilateral meetings, view the profiles of other participants and keep you up to date about forum agenda and side events.
During the registration process personal data will be collected and further processed for the purposes detailed hereafter. The relevant processing data processing and the event are under the responsibility of the BEE (contact data can be found on the website – see menu Imprint).
2. Use of data and data protection
2.1 What personal information do we collect/process and for which purpose?
Data we collect
Contact data (name, organization name, position, address, contact details, phone, email, password,…) Business related data to initiate and support the matchmaking process. You are advised not to insert any confidential information.
Contact data provided are used to facilitate the event management. The business profile (cooperation profile) related data are used for facilitating the arrangements of the matchmaking process.
2.2 Who has access to your data?
General remarks on visibility
BEE determines which data (contact data, business profiles) is publically available on the website. As this event is operated as ´private´ event your data are only made accessible to registered and approved participants. Usually contact data and business profile related data are visible to initiate and facilitate the matchmaking process and can be viewed by other already registered participants.
BEE has access to all data you provided and can download your data in Excel format to manage registration lists, name tags, etc. BEE may use your contact data to assist you prior, during and after an event, if required. Event organizers can assign access right to co-organizers where appropriate.
How long do we keep your data?
This website will be online for about 2 years after the event.
2.3 Editing and deleting data
During the registration process you are requested to insert data as indicated in the registration forms. Inserted data must be correct and must not violate any other person(s) and/or organization(s) rights. You can edit and modify your data any time you like afterwards.
Editing by the event organizers
BEE and co-organizers have the right to modify the submitted data for quality enhancement.
You can’t delete your profile, but you can request the deletion of your profile via the BEE. Usually requests for deletion of profile are handled promptly. In case your request is not processed within a reasonable period of time please contact the BEE (contact data can be found on the website – see menu Imprint).
4. Website content
The static pages of the website (Home, Contact, Agenda …) are inserted and edited by the BEE and co-organizers. Information submitted to this website must comply with the laws of Germany, where the event takes place. This website may contain links to third party websites. For these external websites BEE is not liable.
Participant’s profiles are inserted by the participants. BEE is neither obliged nor has the capacity to examine any of the data inserted.
The website itself the graphics, images, pdfs and similar content are protected by Copyright Law. It is therefore not allowed to edit, copy or publish such content without the explicit consent of BEE. You will also not undertake any technical action that violates the copyright of BEE.
You agree that BEE can use content published by you irrevocably for the purposes described in these Terms. You are solely liable for the published content and any damages resulting from breach of rights of third parties (especially copyright). You will hold harmless BEE in this respect.
6. Technical information
BEE undertakes various technical measures in accordance with data protection law to prevent abuse from outside. This includes measures such as firewalls, anti-hacking programs and other security measures. BEE undertakes everything to avoid any loss of data. In the very unlikely case that data are lost BEE excludes liability for deleted files or any lost data.
Disorders of online access
BEE cannot guarantee constant accessibility or functionality of the website. BEE is not liable for any defects that may exist or for any costs, losses of profit, losses of data or consequential losses arising from your use of or inability to access the Web site as well as from incorrect information.
Log files and statistics
For technical reasons (security reasons and protection of this website) this website automatically collects server log data which are transmitted from your browser. The log data are automatically deleted after 14 days.
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing them other services relating to website activity and internet usage.
Where do we store data?
The collected data, business profiles (if inserted) and all other event related information is stored on the servers of co-organizer Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft e.V. (BSW-Solar). The servers are located in Germany.
8. Your obligations and consent
You hereby agree that you will only use the Website in accordance with these Terms and/or additional Terms.
You are responsible for any content provided by you which is published on this website.
You agree to indemnify BEE on demand immediately for any losses or damages, including where necessary any legal, administrative or technical charges, that may arise from misuse.
Due to the nature of this event BEE or co-organizers will initiate several mailings to inform and alert participant’s about the confirmation of participation, meeting schedules, feedback, etc. You have the right to opt-out from receiving these emails via an email to BEE at any time (contact data can be found on the website – see menu Imprint).
In case of an infringement of these terms and conditions BEE retains the right to delete your user related data and content provided by you.
10. Limitations of liability
BEE neither endorses nor examines any of the material submitted to us and/or posted on this website concerning its compliance with law. This includes the accuracy of any text, information, data, representations, statements or other material whatsoever.
BEE excludes, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable laws, and save in respect of death or personal injury arising from our negligence, all liability for any claims, losses, demands and damages arising directly or indirectly out of or in any way connected with the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue and/or this website. This exclusion shall apply in respect of, without limitation, any interruption of service, lost profits, loss of contracts or business opportunity, loss of data, or any other consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, even if BEE has been advised of the possibility of such damages, whether arising in contract, tort, under statute or otherwise.
11. Law applicable and place of jurisdiction
The place of jurisdiction is Berlin. German law is applicable.
